The
Department of Environmental and Occupational Health
aims to provide graduate and undergraduate
instruction in the environmental
health
sciences and in the study, evaluation, and control
of environmental and occupational health problems. Together with other departments of
the College, it enables students to obtain a better
understanding of the complex relationship between
man, his occupation, and his environment and the
necessary measures for the prevention of disease and
the promotion of health.
Through
specific research, the Department contributes to
knowledge thereby enhancing the understanding of the
environmental hazards affecting human health. It
also provides consultative services and extension
work in the form of industrial hygiene surveys,
laboratory analysis of air, water, wastewater and
biological samples, and training of public
health professional. |
